Product Description
Automobile internal combustion engine connecting-rod is a high volume production component subjected to complex loading. The connecting rod is subjected to many millions of repetitive cyclic loadings. Therefore, durability of this component is of critical importance. It becomes necessary to investigate finite element modelling techniques, optimization techniques and new design to reduce the weight at the same time increase the strength of the connecting rod itself.
This project aims to study the behavior of the connecting-rod for the static and dynamic loads CAE simulations and thereby the optimize the connecting-rod. For this purpose, CAE simulations will be performed on a connecting-rod model using static and dynamic conditions.
Based on the response of the model, topology optimization would be performed using HYPERMESH and RADIOSS software.
